Dara O'Briain will play a comedian in new British film The King of Soho

Dara O'Briain has revealed that he makes his big-screen debut in Michael Winterbottom's new film, The King Of Soho.

The Irish comedian spilled the beans about his guest appearance in the upcoming comedy drama, which stars Anna Friel, Imogen Poots and Steve Coogan, on Twitter.

"Just finished filming a cameo on Michael Winterbottom's new film King Of Soho with Steve Coogan. Played a comedian. Still counts as acting", he wrote.

Filming on the biopic of legendary London porn baron turned property millionaire Paul Raymond - played by Steve - is already underway in the UK with Anna, Imogen and Tamsin Egerton starring as Raymond's wife, daughter and mistress respectively.

Stand-up comic and actor Chris Addison, who starred in The Thick Of It and In The Loop, and rising actress Sarah Solemani also revealed they have parts in the film, via Twitter.

"So this month I shall be being Ollie in TTOI and Paul Raymond's porn editor in King of Soho. I guess I just play men who work with t**s... This is exactly how I saw my career panning out," tweeted Chris.

Sarah added: "First day filming King Of Soho tomorrow. New film with Steve Coogan directed by Michael Winterbottom. Two of my heroes. Nervous!!"

The King Of Soho is expected to be released in 2013.
