Christoph Waltz enters Candy Store
Christoph Waltz has joined the cast of crime thriller Candy Store.
The Oscar-winner will play "a Cold War consigliere posing as a typical American suburbanite" in the action movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.
He joins Jason Clarke, Robert De Niro and Omar Sy in writer-director Stephen Gaghan's movie.
Candy Store follows a deep-cover operative (Jason) who is starting a new life as a beat cop in Brooklyn. Things go wrong when he discovers that the global organisation he was dedicated to fighting is also operating in his new backyard.
De Niro will star as a disgraced cop and Omar will play an international sex trade entrepreneur.
The project has attracted interest from plenty of Hollywood heavyweights, and last year there were rumours that Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington and Jamie Foxx were among those interested in roles.
It was also reported that Avengers actor Chris Hemsworth was linked to a part.
