Steve Carell could be unleashing his inner rock child in Imagine.

The Despicable Me star is set to star as a rock star's son in Dan Fogelman's comedy, which he is also co-producing with his production company Carousel, his publicist confirmed to TheWrap.

Imagine follows a 60-something Bruce Springsteen-type rocker who is inspired to live his life differently after reading a long-unopened letter written to him by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

The past-his-prime musician sets out to find his biological son (Steve) who he never knew existed.

Writer-director Dan has also written the script to Crazy. Stupid. Love, which also stars Steve alongside Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
