Cameron Diaz takes Counsellor role
Cameron Diaz has taken the role that Angelina Jolie was eyeing in upcoming thriller The Counsellor.
The What To Expect When You're Expecting actress will play the female lead in Ridley Scott's movie - which has been written by The Road's Cormac McCarthy and has been described as "No Country For Old Men on steroids" - reports Twitchfilm.
Her character is a mysterious woman known as Malkina.
Angelina was previously thought to be in the frame for the role, which would have seen her reunite with her real life fiance Brad Pitt on screen for the first time since 2005's Mr And Mrs Smith, as he is confirmed to star in the movie.
As well as Brad, Cameron will share the screen with Michael Fassbender, who will play a respected lawyer who dabbles in drug dealing, and Javier Bardem.
Production is set to start in June.
