Burns: Acting an easy day at office

Ed Burns says acting is an easier gig than directing

Ed Burns has revealed he finds acting roles a "relief" after the stress of his directorial projects.

The 27 Dresses star plays an NYPD negotiator in Man On A Ledge, which also features Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks and Jamie Bell.

His directorial projects include She's The One and Newlyweds - but speaking at the LA premiere of his latest film, he said life was easier when he stayed in front of the camera.

"If you show up on set and you're just the actor, quite honestly it's a much easier day at the office in that you only have to worry about the handful of lines you have that day," he said.

"The filmmaker, the director, you've got the entire world to worry about, so any time I get an acting job - I don't want to say it's easy by any stretch, but it's a little bit of a relief."
