Brosnan: Ghost parallels Polanski
Pierce Brosnan has said he's fascinated by the parallels between his new film The Ghost and director Roman Polanski's current predicament.
The Bond star plays a former British Prime Minister fighting extradition to be tried for war crimes in Britain.
It was directed by Polanski who is currently on house arrest in Switzerland fighting extradition to the US regarding a 33-year-old sex case.
Pierce, who was "shocked and saddened" to hear of the director's arrest last year, said: "It's fascinating, the resonance of the film to the life of Roman Polanski, a life of incarceration, a life of exile and the harsh spotlight of history and time on both men."
He added: "Timing is everything and it remains to be seen what happens to Mr Roman Polanski. But I'm proud of the work and proud of the film, it packs a good old punch from the hands of a man who's done some of the finest thrillers of our time."
:: The Ghost opens in cinemas on April 16.
