Brad Pitt: I want kids to be free
Brad Pitt has said he makes sure he doesn't take his work home with him, because he doesn't want to burden his children with it.
The actor - who is father to nine-year-old Maddox, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with Angelina Jolie - told The Daily Telegraph he wants them to grow up free.
Brad revealed: "It's so obvious to me that, when I come home, my kids are so aware of everything that's going on.
"It's quite important to me not to put my frustrations on them. I want them to be free, not encumbered with my junk."
In his new movie The Tree of Life Brad plays an angry father who comes to feel responsible for passing on his own oppression to his children.
Hollywood heartthrob Brad, 47, also revealed he was pleased not to have to hit the gym for the dramatic role, set in the 50s.
He smiled: "For this film I just ate a lot and drank a lot of beer."
