Benicio Del Toro didn't have any qualms about putting on make-up for his latest big-screen role - it was getting it off again that was difficult.
The Oscar winner had a painstaking transformation for his part in The Wolfman, involving hours in the make-up trailer where prosthetics, fangs and fur were applied.
The Usual Suspects star said he was "proud" of himself in make-up, adding: "I enjoyed putting on the make-up because it's happening and you see something growing and at the end it's the flower."
But he added: "After doing the work and you're ready to go home, I had to sit in that make-up trailer for two hours and get my face scrubbed.
"That really was tedious because you couldn't relax, you just wanted to get home, you wanted to do it fast and you just can't. You just have to take it off piece by piece 'cos it's really glued to your face.
"As a kid I always wanted to have those big teeth and it doesn't matter how long you're sitting on that chair, with Rick (Baker, the Oscar-winning creature effects designer) the magic is bit by bit. You close your eyes for five minutes, you open them up again and something is happening."
Benicio stars with Emily Blunt and Sir Anthony Hopkins in the film.
:: The Wolfman opens in cinemas on February 12.
