Andrew Garfield has been shown looking buff in his skin-tight Spider-Man suit for the first time.
The 27-year-old star of The Social Network has been cast as Peter Parker in Marc Webb's 2012 Spider-Man reboot and the first official picture of him webbed up in his superhero costume with an updated logo has been released.
Andrew, who's just been shortlisted for this year's Bafta Rising Star award and who has been helping his Social Network co-stars collect several gongs for the Facebook drama, has admitted taking on the iconic role of Spider-Man is a lot of pressure.
He said: "It's very daunting, I don't take it lightly. I know it belongs to everyone that role, so I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I honour it.
"He is my favourite superhero."
Emma Stone, who plays Peter's love interest Gwen Stacy in the original film about the superhero's school days, has previously revealed she and Andrew had to take classes together to prepare for the film.
She said: "Andrew and I went and learned about science. Gwen really likes science, so we learned about science. I was home-schooled, so I never went to chemistry class in a traditional setting like Gwen is into. That was really beneficial."
Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary and Campbell Scott are also among the cast of the film, which is due for release in July 2012.
