Actress arrested at White House
Actress Q'orianka Kilcher has been arrested for tying herself to a White House fence.
Authorities said the 20-year-old - who played Pocahontas in the 2005 film The New World - tied herself to the fence on Tuesday and her 41-year-old mother, Saskia, poured a black substance over her.
They told officials they were protesting a visit by the president of Peru. Q'orianka Kilcher's father is a Peruvian Indian.
Park Police spokesman Sergeant David Schlosser identified the mother, who's charged with defacing government property, and daughter, who's charged with disorderly conduct.
Schlosser said they were expected to appear in DC Superior Court on Wednesday.
The actress's agent Carlyne Grager confirmed the arrests and said the actress is a strong supporter of indigenous populations around the world.
