Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson's new film About Time is set to have its world premiere in London.

The time-travelling romantic comedy, which is written and directed by Love Actually's Richard Curtis, will open the Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House on August 8.

"I'm tremendously excited about the premiere of About Time happening at Somerset House. It's one of my favourite open spaces in London and the occasion - outdoors, in the summer - seems terribly suitable for the movie," Richard said.

"It was shot in the summer... and there's actually a scene in the film where the leading man's family watch a movie projected on to a wall outside their house," he added.

Described as a "new funny film about love - with a bit of time travel", Domhnall stars as a 21-year-old who has the ability to go back and forth in time, and has to win over his girlfriend again when he accidentally erases the timeline. The movie also stars Bill Nighy, Tom Hollander and former Neighbours actress Margot Robbie.

Prince Avalanche, starring Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch, will close the fortnight of open-air cinema screenings on August 21, while The Way Way Back, featuring Steve Carell and Toni Collette, will have its UK premiere on August 13.

Other screenings include Ryan Gosling's rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Untouchables, Stephen King's Carrie and Arnold Schwarzenegger's action film Predator.

Tickets for the Film4 Summer Screen go on sale on May 24 at 10am, and are available from or Ticketmaster.
