Abigail Breslin to star in Peste
Abigail Breslin has landed the lead role in a new thriller about a contagious virus.
The 17-year-old Ender's Game actress will play a young girl whose family is quarantined after a virus sweeps their small town in Peste, reported Variety.
Mark Tonderai will direct the film for IM Global's genre label Octane.
IM Global CEO Stuart Ford said Abigail's performances in genre hits like Zombieland and The Call made her a perfect fit for the film.
He also said the actress, who was nominated for an Oscar for Little Miss Sunshine in 2006, was "one of the outstanding talents of her generation".
So far no other casting details have been announced.
Production on Peste is due to start in September.
