SHE has a figure to die for and is the face of weight loss show Operation Transformation.

But RTE star Kathryn Thomas is getting ready to battle the bulge just like the rest of us this month.

The glamorous blonde admitted that she got into the bad books with her trainer, fitness guru Paul Byrne, as a result of her poor attendance at his sessions before Christmas.

But over the next few weeks Kathyrn will be putting away the mince pies as she gets back into her fitness routine.

"I haven't been to the gym in ages," she told the Herald.

"Paul Byrne didn't see me for a month before Christmas and then it got too close to the holidays to give a damn."

The Voice of Ireland host has plans to get into ship shape with the new season of Operation Transformation this month and will use the new batch of leaders as her inspiration.

"I was a bit like 'whatever' and I was squeezing into a pair of spanx over Christmas," she said.

"But now the festive season is over, I will be hitting the gym and the six leaders will help me to build my momentum."

The presenter kicked off her Christmas by cooking a festive dinner for 12 of her close friends in her Dublin pad, before chilling out at home with her family in her native Carlow.

Kathryn rang in the New Year in the west of Ireland where she was joined by a group of pals and the new man in her life, restaurateur Padraig McLoughlin.

The pair toasted the New Year in the swanky Ashford Castle hotel in Mayo.

She confirmed the relationship in September and the happy couple have since been snapped together on the Dublin social scene.

"He's great and we're really happy," said Kathryn of her new beau.

She is looking forward to tackling Operation Transformation and promised there are plenty of changes in store for viewers.

"We have different challenges coming up and we have six leaders instead of five this year so it will be a shake up," Kathryn said.
