Jameela Jamil to host ’empowering’ Radio 4 show on sexual consent

The presenter has said the show will be educational.

Jameela Jamil is set to host an “empowering” new BBC documentary on sexual consent.

The actress and broadcaster will present a two-part programme exploring attitudes to sex in the upcoming Radio 4 show The New Age Of Consent.

Jamil has said she hopes to educate with the series which will explore sexual relationships in the digital age, and in the wake of the Me Too movement.

In the first instalment of the radio series, The Good Place actress will speak to men and women about occasions where their sexual partners have crossed boundaries.

The series will also examine issues of revenge porn, and education about consent.

Jamil said: “I think this is a time in which, thanks to the Me Too movement, the conversation has finally opened up about sex and consent.

“This documentary strives to educate without scolding or belittling. It’s full of empowering and extremely interesting information and accounts from our excellent participants.

“This documentary means a lot to me and I’m so glad we are finally talking about something so important, properly.”

Part one of the show, Crossing The Lines, will air on September 3.  The second instalment, Re-writing The Rules, will follow on September 10.
