Irish artists and performers will be given a major boost when they become the focus of a cultural programme throughout the UK.

Culture Minister Josepha Madigan met with artists, including Bell X1's Paul Noonan, hip hop artists Mango & Mathman, the Sierra Leonean/Irish singer Loah, composer Éna Brennan and members of Crash Ensemble orchestra as they prepared for one of the flagship events - 'Imagining Ireland: 21st Century Song', at the Barbican Centre, London, on Monday, March 5.

More than 60 performances, tours, exhibitions and concerts will be rolled out across England, Scotland and Wales this year.

"I wish all the participants every success as they celebrate the strong cultural connections across these islands," said Ms Madigan.
