'I want another date with Tara' - Striking Out's 'hunky barista' pushes for a second series
The "hunky barista" in Striking Out would love RTE to commission a second series so he could see where things go with him and Amy Huberman.
Viewers watched Brahm Gallagher's character Pete woo the petite star in the final episode as he cooked Tara Rafferty a romantic champagne dinner on his boathouse in Dublin.
"Amy was great. She was incredibly gracious and hospitable and made working on the show a lot of fun," said Brahm. "She had a lot of pressure on her shoulders, being in every scene, but you wouldn't know it from her."
Brahm, who played a Lannister soldier in Game of Thrones, also said he found out about her famous other half, Brian O'Driscoll, before filming and joked that he was warned to be careful with her.
"I was told who she was married to and to just mind my Ps and Qs. But Brian was great - he was out one of the nights I was down," he said.
American actor Brahm lives in his wife's native Belfast, having moved from LA last year, so is handily placed for any future filming.
"The decision lies with RTE at this point. I would definitely like to see it happening," he said.
"There's a lot of the backstory of my character that I'd like to see addressed, like how does Pete afford a nice cafe like that in Dublin?
"Where does he come from, how did he get started? I would definitely like to see it come back for another series."
The Game of Thrones star was taken aback with the reaction his character received on social media.
"I was surprised, definitely, and also embarrassed. My wife took it all well - she had a few choice words, but she definitely had a laugh at some of the reaction," he said.
