Hollywood's finest flock to Kinsale
A hop, skip and a jump from their home in Skibbereen, acting greats Sinéad Cusack and Jeremy Irons lead the way at the ninth annual Kinsale Arts Festival this week.
Sinéad joined a list of luminaries – among them Jonathan Rhys Myers, Michael Morpurgo and Jean Kennedy Smith – to officially launch the event, which will enjoy its final day tomorrow.
The silver screen and stage star, whose new movie The Sea is soon due for release, said she was impressed by the "magnitude" of the festival and the variety of talent in its programme.
Wine tastings, musical offerings from the likes of artists Rhob Cunningham and DJ Kormac, afternoon tea with culinary queens Darina and Rachel Allen, and comedic performances from such as Colm O'Regan have been part of the speckled line-up this week.
