Top Irish model Yomiko Chen has played the bride on more than one occasion, but this time, it's going to be for real. She looked a million dollars when she wore a Louise Kennedy dress from the designer's bridal collection at her AW14 show, and old-world glamour could just be theme of Yomiko's wedding given the very lovely vintage engagement ring she's just received from her beau, Iain Conway. The couple are also business partners in Kokoro Sushi Bento in Dublin.
"I proposed with a classic antique ring which is 100 years old and I got a great feeling about it after spending ages searching for it," said Iain.
"We were driving home for New Year and we were between my family home in Tullamore and Dublin on New Year's Day when I pulled in the car and proposed. We met on January 2 two years ago and I had planned to propose on January 2, 2015, but I just couldn't wait for another day and proposed there and then."
The bridal scene is uber-busy at the moment. Louise Kennedy will be introducing six new styles to her bridal collection next month and Maria Dunne from The Event Design Company, who is working on a major wedding event at Rathsallagh House, Co Wicklow, on March 1 tells me that the big thing for her is Skypeing Irish, ex-pat brides-to-be who desperately want to marry at home in Ireland.
