Golden gateway to San Francisco with Aer Lingus
LAST September, 35,000 folks flocked from the US of A to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin for the 'Notre Dame Fighting Irish' game of American football.
It was the largest peacetime gathering of Americans outside of the US, according to John Hennessey-Niland, of the US Embassy in Dublin, who spoke at a travel media event last Tuesday night.
And it looks as if there could be many more gatherings of that nature, thanks to Aer Lingus, which is upping its transatlantic services.
From 2014, Aer Lingus will be flying direct to San Francisco, and will also operate a direct service to Toronto, with daily flights in summer and four a week in the winter. These new cities now join Orlando, New York, Boston and Chicago as Aer Lingus serviced destinations. Flights from Shannon to New York and Boston will double in frequency. We at the Pleasure List will definitely be packing our bags.
