Thousands convene for a gamers' paradise
Thousands of gaming enthusiasts thronged into Dublin's Convention House this weekend for PlayersXpo.
The inaugural event showcased games, new and old, from the top companies in the world, with a 2,000-seat auditorium housing numerous gaming and YouTube celebrities.
From 'Minecraft' to 'Mario Kart', and from 'Call of Duty' to 'Hearthstone', the event did not disappoint, with gamers from all over the country united in the one building.
Jimmy Breen, a father of one from Co Laois, told the Irish Independent that he had no idea what the big fuss was all about, but was delighted his son was having a great day out.
"My son has been talking about this day for weeks now," he said.
"He just met his hero Jelly - some YouTube star - and his body literally went into a spasm.
"I just don't get the appeal, but if he's happy I'm happy."
