Warhammer 40k: Armageddon is trying for the holy grail of the Warhammer universe: A digital version worthy of the much loved table top strategy game.

PC gamers will be the first to try out the multi-platform turn-based strategy, with applications for Beta keys now being sought. Click Here to sign-up on the Slitherine website.

The game is due for release later this year.

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon is set during the Second War for Armageddon. In this hex-based, turn-based game developed by Flashback Games and The Lordz Games Studio, players will lead the Imperial forces of the Armageddon Steel Legion and Space Marines from a variety of Chapters against the Ork invasion.

The game reportedly has a complex plot and is due to feature known characters from the 40k Universe. A nice point will be the ability to carry forces over from one campaign to another, which should appeal to Warhammer players who like to carefully craft their ultimate force.
