Wii U exclusive Star Fox Zero delayed until 2016
Star Fox Zero's release has been pushed back from November this year until sometime between January and the end of March next year.
Wii U exclusive Star Fox Zero will miss the crucial holiday season, as its release has een pushed back from November until sometime between January and the end of March next year.
Producer Shigeru Miyamoto broke the news, explaining that the development team would like more time to polish the levels, perfect the tone of cut scenes, and work on “the unprecedented discovery that we want players to experience in the game by using two screens.”
His statement on Facebook said that while it would be “technically possible” to release the game on time, the team would like to delay it to ensure it’s as good as it can be. He wrote, “All the members of the development team are doing our best so that the final product will not betray your expectations.”
It may be a blessing for Nintendo that Star Fox Zero will miss its intended release date. As it stands, it would have been facing off against heavyweights like Star Wars Battlefront, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and Fallout 4.
Instead, Star Fox Zero will land sometime between January and the end of March 2016.
