The 'Ultimate Evil Edition' brings the Reaper of Souls expansion to consoles, along with some platform specific additions.

The first additions are social:

Apprentice Mode will make it easier to group up with friends. The Nemesis System will send monsters into a friend's game. Player Mail and Player Gift will make it easy for players to share their loot with friends.

The new modes are explained in detail in the clip below:

A welcome feature is the ability to port characters between platforms, allowing players on PS3 and Xbox360 to port their existing characters to PS4 or Xbox One.

In addition to the content in the original Reaper of Souls expansion - Act V and a Crusader hero - the Ultimate Evil Edition will also add a number of improvements, including:

Bounties: Randomised objectives.

Nephalem Rifts: Fully randomised dungeons.

Adventure Mode: A new game mode that gives players the freedom to roam.

Level Cap to 70: Higher level cap with associated new spells and abilities.

The Mystic: New artisan who provides heroes with loot-customization options.

The exclusivity wars continue, with Playstation gamers getting access to two additional features.

The Guise of the Colossi: A unique transmogrification plan that unlocks six armour appearances inspired by Shadow of the Colossus

The Last of Us Nephalem Rift: A randomised dungeon filled with enemies modelled on The Last of Us' Stalker, Clicker and Bloated infected.

The Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition is available on PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One from the 19th August 2014
