WATCH: This 82-year-old enjoys Electric Picnic more than anybody
Dick Dillon has never missed a year
This 82-year-old dad didn't let the weather spoil his weekend at Electric Picnic.
Stradbally native Dick Dillon has been to every Electric Picnic festival. This year, his daughter Rose-ann shared a clip of him enjoying the music at the country's biggest music event.
"My dad goes every year and makes sure he has his ticket well in advance," she told Independent.ie.
She also said her dad is treated with the utmost respect by younger revellers.
"From the minute he gets out the front door, everyone has so much respect for him. They're so good. They do a double take when they see him and come back to say hello."
Mr Dillon, who used to work in the woods around the Laois town, loves the festival so much, he keeps a photo album with pictures from all the picnics over the years.
"Every year is a good year. I couldn't pick a favourite," he said.
"I really enjoyed the atmosphere. When the lights come on at night, it's just great.
"I wouldn't know much about the bands though."
