Faith No More, Deftones and The Jesus & Mary Chain are among the acts announced for a new festival kicking off next summer.

Sunstroke 2020 is Ireland's new alternative rock festival and will take place at Punchestown Racecourse across the weekend of Saturay 13 and Sunday 14 June.

Older festival heads may remember the original version of Sunstroke which first took place at Dalymount Park in 1993 and finished up in 1995 at the RDS.

Other acts announced include Gojira, Killing Joke, Black Veil Brides, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and many more.

They will play across three live stages with weekend camping availalble and tickets go on sale Tuesday December 3 at 9am (early bird weekends are €129.50 or €159.50 with camping).

The festival joins a jam-packed festival schedule over the summer with Forbidden Fruit, Body & Soul, Live at the Marquee, Belsonic, Sea Sessions and Kaleidoscope all taking place across May and June and Indiependence at the end of July.
