There's a new way to watch and engage with the 56-year-old 'Rose of Tralee' festival - on popular teen app Snapchat.

The app, which is very popular with Irish young people in their teens and mid-twenties, is the latest way in which the festival is trying to connect with a new audience.

The 'TheRoseOfTralee' account shows a never-before seen side to the festival, allowing fans a look into the behind the scenes moments.

Videos and photos of escorts, roses, family and friends dancing, laughing and having fun show a softer side to a very polished festival, and provides an interesting accompaniment to the televised event.

From parade point-of-view shots to catching Maria taking selfies, the rose of tralee Snapchat is worth a look!

During Sunday's festivities at the Rose of Tralee, Dublin Band Hudson Taylor took over the '' Snapchat to give a unique insight to playing for thousands of people in Tralee - see video above.

It is the second year the festival has utilised the Snapchat app as part of it's social media strategy, and the account now has over 2,000 friends.
