Féile Classical sold out in minutes this morning prompting organisers to announce a second date for the Tripp to Tipp 2018.

The first concert will take place on Saturday September 22 at Semple Stadium and now Tom Dunne has secured the bands for a second date on the previous day - Friday September 21.

The bands performing are The Stunning, Hothouse Flowers, An Emotional Fish, Something Happens, The 4 of Us, The Frank & Walters, with Special Guests and all will perform alongside the Irish Chamber Orchestra on a “beautiful oyster stage”.

The festival will be fully seated, complete with luxuries like a choice of clean toilets, gourmet vegan food stalls, and a selection of pop-up gin and Prosecco bars – a far cry from tinfoiled ham sandwiches and flasks of tea.

A photography exhibition of fans attending Féiles throughout the 90s will flank the stage.

There will also be discussions about the cultural importance of Ireland’s first multi-day festival, held in the ‘Tribal Tent’ and hosted by Irish Independent journalist John Meagher.

Glamping will be available near the stadium and further details of this along with special trail and bus routes will be announced next week. As the festival is a seated event, tickets from €49.50 are limited and will go on sale tomorrow morning at 10am from Ticketmaster.ie and usual outlets.
