Goodbye Oxegen... Hello Europe

Portishead are heading to Iceland
Portishead are heading to Iceland

Good value, great line-ups and the prospect of sunshine is luring fans away from Ireland towards Europe for a top festival experience. Here's the pick of them ...

Tomorrowland, Belgium (July 18-20 & 25-27)

Dance fans will find much to like in this hefty line-up, from party starters like Diplo and Dirty South to seasoned heavyweights like Carl Cox and Roger Sanchez.

Field Day, London (June 7)

Small and self-contained, Field Day still packs quite a punch over in the hipster-friendly enclave of London Fields. Future Islands, Metronomy, Pixies and The Horrors will do their best to sate this endlessly cool crowd.

All Tomorrow's Parties, Iceland (July 10-12)

ATP have been putting together weekends across the UK and US for 15 years and their Icelandic event certainly doesn't disappoint. Interpol, Portishead, and Kurt Vile are some of the bigger names in this largely esoteric weekender.

Primavera Sound, Barcelona (May 28-31)

The Irish turnout is always strong for this sunny and laid back extravaganza. This year's line-up provides serious bang for your buck: The National, Arcade Fire, Queens Of The Stones Age and Nine Inch Nails for starters.
