A spectacular and diverse festival showcasing the music, dance and culture of various nations from around the world will be held at Mountjoy Square this weekend.

The Festival of Nations kicks off with the Parade of Nations followed by lots of family-friendly activities including drumming, capoeira displays, Bollywood dancing and workshops.

Representatives from across South America, Africa and Europe are performing in this global cultural integration, but everyone is invited to attend and take part.

Dublin's Lord Mayor Paul McAuliffe was on hand yesterday with the performers at the official launch of the event, which will take place on Saturday from 12pm to 6pm.
