Organisers of a local community festival are on the lookout for a Mrs Brown doppelganger.

Those behind North Dublin event 'Finglas Festival' are searching for a dead ringer for Brendan O'Carroll's much loved tv character, Agnes Brown.

A contest to find a look-a-like for Finglas native Agnes Brown will take place at the local shopping centre next Thursday July 19th, ahead of the festival.

The festival, which promotes the North Dublin suburb, will also be encouraging attendees to arrive in curly wigs and their Sunday best in homage to Mrs Brown.

The reason? They are hoping to break the world record for the most Mrs Browns in one place at one time.

Local Councillor Paul McAuliffe said: "People in Finglas are very proud of our own Brendan O'Carroll and the global success he has made with Mrs Brown's Boys.

"To honour that success and show Dublin, Ireland and the World how great Finglas is, we are calling on all Agnes Brown fans to bring their aprons, scarves and rollers to Finglas on the July 19."

Finglas Festival runs from July 13th - 19th.
