Early bird Picnicers' spirits aren't dampened as they set up at Stradbally
Thousands of revellers have arrived at Stradbally, Co Laois for the 11th annual festival.
As the sky clouded over, eager festival goers were seen sleeping soundly in their cars at 8.30am this morning thinking they would make it first in the gates.
Little did they know, hundreds of early risers pipped them to the post as the queue snaked back through the car park.
Music lovers from Malin Head to Mizen Head turned up in their droves, carrying their essentials in wheelbarrows, trolleys, rucksacks and carts.
Many picnickers were seen having difficulty putting up tents and marquees as they battled the drizzly wind; their spirits, however, were not dampened.
Weekend Ticket holders can pick a patch of grass in one of the five campsites; Andy Warhol; Charlie Chaplin; Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, or Oscar Wilde.
The expansive Main Arena encompasses the Main Stage, a silent disco, henna stalls, food vendors, Casa Bacardi, and the Big Little Tent, and many more.
Tonight's bill will see Bonnie Tyler, Foals and Pet Shop Boys take to the main stage.
Tunes kick off in Casa Bacardi at 4pm and will go on 'til 4am in the Red Bull Music Academy, much to electro music lovers' delight.
