Duran Duran to headline Killarney Festival of Music and Food

Pop icons Duran Duran will headline the Killarney Festival of Music and Food this summer.

 The 1980s group, fronted by Simon Le Bon, will join a line up of over 60 Irish and international acts and headline the festival on Sunday, June 28.

 Already, bands announced for the event include Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra with guests vocalists Marc Almond and Ruby Turner, Texas, The Proclaimers, The Undertones, Damien Dempsey, Something Happens, The Frank & Walters, The 4 of Us, Mundy and Paddy Casey.

 The two-day festival will run and June 27 and 28 and the Co Kerry tourist town is its new home. It was held in Westport, Co Mayo the previous year.

 Acts will perform across seven stages and the festival will also feature a comedy tent with performances by Deirdre O'Kane and the Après Match team of Risteard Cooper, Barry Murphy and Gary Cooke.

 The gourmet food village will showcase wine and food and feature well established restaurants from around Ireland, local artisan food producers and culinary demonstrations by top chefs, including Derry Clarke from L’Ecrivain in Dublin.

 There will be a wine bar, craft beer lounge and a cocktail lounge.
