The summer festival season is set to launch in spectacular fashion this weekend as Body & Soul brings its annual heady mix of music, arts, and wellbeing to Co Westmeath.

Held on the summer solstice in the stunning surrounds of Ballinlough Castle from June 21 to 23 it offers something a little different to the usual festival fare.

This tenth anniversary boasts an eclectic line-up with Modeselektor, The Blaze, IAMDDB, and Kruder & Dorfmeister among the headliners with Irish artists Jafaris, SOAK, Wyveryn Lingo, and Mango X Mathman also in the mix.

There's also a comprehensive programme outside of music with art installations, immersive theatre, and spoken word performances as well as political discussions, a masquerade ball, and a host of activities for children 12 and under.

For wellbeing enthusiasts The Sanctuary will return with a top practitioners and speakers from all over Ireland.

Sustainability is at the key pillars of Body & Soul and among a number of initiatives this year is a ban on all single use plastics (you can buy a reusable cup for €5 on site) so you won't see fields littered with plastic bottles on Monday morning.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the weekend from tickets to travel to line-up, and more.

Line-up:

As well as the aforementioned headliners you can catch Kate Tempest, Sleaford Mods, Mashrou' Leila, Octavian, Cupakke, Mano Le Tough and more across the weekend.

The festival is for over 20s.  Children aged 13-19 are not permitted at all but children under 12 can attend for free if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with a family camping ticket (max two children per adult ticket) or a Sunday day ticket. The child must be registered at the point of sale via Ticketbooth.

There is a dedicated family campsite and Soul Kids programme of activities across the weekend for children.

Camping:

There is a range of camping and campervan options - book HERE

Weather:

While the outlook has certainly improved on recent weeks, it's still a bit of a mixed bag ahead for the weekend so bring the rain gear.

Friday will kick off with sunshine although there is a chance of showers later in the day with temperatures 16C to 19C.  Saturday will be mostly dry with showers developing in most areas later on and temps a little cooler at 11C to 14C.  Sunday will be cloudy with some showers too.
