Sea Sessions - the "beach party weekend of the year" - is not just about the lineup of bands that will play for three days straight this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There are lots of activities running over the weekend alongside the main event. Here are seven of the best!

1. Barefoot Beach Olympics Beach Soccer

The Beach Soccer runs over the two  days Saturday and Sunday, hosted by Erne Wanderers FC.

The first day is all the group/pool matches where 4 teams are selected from 16 to qualify for the knock out stages. On Sunday the semis and finals take place.

Each team must have 8 members but Open teams will be available if you're heading down alone!

Price: €20 per team

Pay-off: Cash prize

Rules: ALL team members MUST be weekend ticket holders.

2. Barefoot Beach Olympics Tag Rugby

The Tag Rugby tournament will run alongside the Beach Soccer but with added competition - tag rugby teams from the UK are touching down to take on the best of the Irish in a "hotly contested" knockout competition.

Eight teams of 10 people will be accepted, Open teams will be available and each team is guaranteed two games.

Price: €20 per team

Pay-off: Cash prize

Rules: ALL team members MUST be weekend ticket holders.

3. Barefoot Beach Olympics Beach Volleyball

4. Skate Urban Jungle Session

A specially commissioned twenty-foot tall 'Mini-ramp' will be located within the festival parameter for an "ongoing skateboard Jam" over the weekend. This 'Jam' is where the best Irish skateboarders skate with an 'invited international crew'.

In the evening, 'Cold Hard Cash' begins at the ramp - where festival-goers leave cash in a pile beside the ramp for the skateboarders to compete for by completing tricks.

This year, a BMX crew have been added and a "Let's Get High" prize for the skaters that catch the most air.

Price: Free, unless you want to add to the 'Cold Hard Cash' prize fund

Pay-off: Some epic skateboard and BMX tricks

Rules: #NoRules

5. Quicksilver Surfing Expression Session

The Sea Sessions surfing competition boasts the "biggest prize in Irish Surfing" and draws some of the best names in surfing from across the world.

Last years' winner Gearoid McDaid will be defending his title against surfers from Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, England, Portugal and Ireland.

The Expression Session "rewards the surfers for the biggest single manoeuvre rather than technical surfing" in a "spectator friendly format".

Price: Free

Pay-off: The opportunity to see some amazing surfing manoeuvres.

Rules: #NoRules

6. Retro Surf and Bodyboard event

This competition aims to find the best and biggest single manoeuvre on a bodyboard instead of a surfboard. This event is for the "normal surfers of Ireland" who want to get involved and compete.

If you're in it to win it, you will be restricted to using old style surfboards from the 70s and 80s.

Price: Free

Pay-off: Glory

Rules: 70s and 80s surfboard designs only

7. Barefoot Beach Olympics Ultimate Beach Frisbee

Last year's demonstration has turned into this year's new event thanks to popular demand.

The ultimate college game, Ultimate Frisbee mixes tag rugby with Frisbee and registration will be available both on and on the day with the Core Events crew.

Pay-off: Fun and Games

Rules: Get there early - huge interest already!
