Festival Essentials: Westport 2013
Make the most of Mayo this weekend at the Westport Festival of Music & Food on Saturday and Sunday.
WHAT: Westport Festival of Music & Food
Family-friendly, fun and set among the natural beauty of Westport. Hot water in showers, ‘actual!’ toilets in the established campsite, courtesy of Westport House. The pedestrian entrance is at Church Street, off the junction of Quay Street and Peter Street.
WHERE: Westport House, Co. Mayo; a 10-minute walk from Westport town.
WHEN: Saturday, June 29th - Sunday, June 30th
HOW TO GET THERE
FROM DUBLIN: Driving from Dublin, take the N4/N5 signposted for Galway, Sligo, Westport. The Rice College Car park is on this route.
FROM GALWAY : Driving from Galway, take the Ballinrobe Rd N84 to Partry (left at the Thatch pub) and then continue on N84 to Westport. Avoid Castlebar as this route will be the busiest. The Westpoint Shopping Centre car park is on this route.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
1. Gates open at 12:30pm on Saturday, June 29th and close at 11pm on Sunday, June 30th. Children’s events wrap at 7pm both nights.
2. Camping? Look for the ‘Yellow Route’ signs upon arrival. They will guide you to your home for the next 48 hours.
Pros: This is one festival with top class acts where you won’t have to worry about hordes of drunken teenagers raining on your parade. Weekend camping passes only cost €45.
Cons: There are no ATMs on site, so bring cash – and be sure to store it somewhere safe.
