Chart star Ellie Goulding has denied being pressured to wear revealing outfits.

The 27-year-old often showed off her slim figure and sported a bondage-inspired get-up on stage in Germany earlier this week.

But she has insisted she does not feel compelled to wear skimpy clothes.

"No, never. That would never ever come into it," she told the Sunday Times Magazine.

"My management would never force me to do anything, because they know I'm a really strong-minded person.

"I've never been an artist to say 'OK, I'll wear that or I'll wear less'."

The UK singer said she follows an intense daily exercise regime of high-intensity workouts, boxing and free-running, which have become an addiction "better than crack", she joked.

Goulding, who has shrunk from a size 12 to a size 8, claimed she is more concerned with her strength than her size.

"I just don't want to be on this Earth and not make the most out of my body," she said.

When asked if reports last year that she might have had breast implants were true, she replied: "No! It isn't. One thing I'm afraid of is dying, so putting myself under an unnecessary operation, no."

She went on: "I mean, if I was ever going to have surgery, I'd probably have a nose job, because I've knocked it and banged it and it's got a dent in it now.

"But I wouldn't, because what if it went wrong? Sod that! I've got way better things to think about."

The Starry Eyed singer defended the raunchy twerking dance performed by Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.

Cyrus made headlines with the risque performance in a nude PVC bikini at the awards in New York.

Goulding said: "I like Miley, she's a friend. I was there at the V&As and it wasn't half as bad or controversial as everyone made out. I was enjoying it."
