Fontaines D.C. have been nominated for a BRIT Award in the category of International Group, it was announced today.
The Dublin band were one of five nominations for the prestigious award and they keep stellar company as fellow nominees include: The Foo Fighters, HAIM, BTS and Run The Jewels.
The nomination follows swiftly on from a grammy nomination earlier this year.
Fontaines D.C. took to Instagram to share their gratitude for the nomination, saying: “It’s great to be recognised by @brits as an international act. Cheers people”.
The band recently teamed up with Bohemians FC for a new jersey with the aim of tackling homelessness, with a percentage of profits being donated to homeslessness charity Focus Ireland.
Dua Lipa, Jessie Ware, J Hus and Headie One are among the nominees for this year’s Brit Awards.
The shortlists for each category were revealed on the event’s social media channels, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and this year’s rising star winner, Griff.
This year, the Brit Awards will take place on May 11 after being postponed from February due to coronavirus restrictions.
