Operation Transformation host Kathryn Thomas has confirmed that Dr Eva Orsmond has left the hit RTE show.
After six seasons of advising participants on their essential nutritional needs, Dr Eva will not be transforming any more bodies on screen.
Kathryn, who replaced the late Gerry Ryan as host of the show, confirmed this morning that the eccentric practitioner has parted ways with the programme and praised her performance during their time together.
"She's very successful in her own right and just too busy," she said, before adding that Orsmond was a "pleasure" and "absolutely brilliant" to work with.
"There's a lot of changes happening to the show this year," Kathryn told Miriam O'Callaghan on RTE Radio One. "We'll be announcing her replacement on the assessment day in November."
Rather than trying to replace her with a similar over-the-top character, show bosses will be making over the show across the board.
"I don't think you're going to get another Eva, you have to go another route," the tv presenter added.
"We're going into our seventh season now. Her departure will change things quite significantly, so we'll go in a different direction.
"it's a pity because she will be missed.
"I'll never forget meeting her for the first time at the assessment, she had this big fur coat on.
"She's a great sense of humour and I love her to bits."
Participants may also be relieved that the 'army challenge' has been scrapped, but an equally difficult task will be introduced this year.
"It's the new Operation Transformation," she said.
"It's about change. Not that I would say the army challenge got easier, but we want to enter a new era for the challengers."
