Dingle belle Miriam in Kerry for the New Year
There'll be a right dangle in Dingle. And for once Daithi O Se has nothing to do with it.
(Though Daithi could still get involved at the last minute, considering it is his hometown, don't you know? )
Miriam O'Callaghan - plus ca change, as they often say in Kerry - and husband Steve Carson and family are heading to Dingle for the New Year.
There are so many in that group that the economy of the region will be given an almost instant boost by the great O'Callaghan clan's arrival.
The tireless RTE superstar (to say nothing of tireless mother of eight children) and her brood have practically reinvented the concept of staycation by her and her brood's holidays in Dingle.
She told your ever-eager if humble diarist: "We love it there. We rang in the New Year there last year too."
"Dingle has a wonderful tradition of celebrating the dawning of the New Year on the streets, inviting the familiar visitors like us."
The esteemed Lady of Montrose added that she is "eternally grateful to my Kerry father for introducing me to the spectacular beauty and splendour of the Kingdom. "
"It's been another mad busy year and the Aras Attracta care-home abuse programme on Prime Time has kept us really busy right to the end of the season"
"So," she continued, "I'm looking forward to doing very little at Christmas and just staying at home and having lots of family time."
Me too - but I'll probably have to drag myself down to Dingle to report on Miriam's and Steve's primetime fun for you, dear reader. . .
