Denise Van Outen and husband confirm separation
DENISE Van Outen and husband Lee Mead have confirmed they have separated.
The news comes following months of speculation.
The couple was pictured recently together with their three-year-old daughter Betsy after months of speculation that their marriage was on the rocks.
Former Big Breakfast host Denise (39) was forced to deny reports of marital troubles in recent months.
Speculation mounted as the couple were forced to spend large periods of time apart due to their respective careers.
A joint statement issued from the couple earlier today said: “Following continued speculation, Denise Van Outen and Lee Mead are sad to confirm they have decided to separate.”
“The couple remain the best of friends, with their daughter Betsy as their No1 priority. The family ask for privacy at this time.”
The couple have been married for four years.
They met on the BBC series ‘Any Dream Will Do’ which saw Denise in a role as a judge alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Lee went on to win the series, which saw him play the lead role of Joseph in a West End production of ‘Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’.
Lee has been spending periods of time in the US in a bid to start an acting careers.
Denise appeared in the BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last year and has been pictured holidaying alone since then.
In recent interviews, she commented on how difficult it was to keep their marriage going when they were forced to spend large amounts of time apart.
However, she had insisted they were still together.
