Damien has depicted the Wham! star in household gloss.
Artist Damien Hirst – famous for his pickled sharks and diamond-encrusted skull – has painted an image of late singer George Michael.
Damien, 51, has depicted the Wham! star in household gloss to help raise cash for HIV and Aids prevention and awareness.
The work on canvas, entitled Beautiful Beautiful George Michael Love Painting, will be auctioned at an event which will also pay tribute to the singer for his philanthropic contributions.
It will go under the hammer at a gala and art exhibition taking place in Dallas, Texas, on Friday.
The Goss-Michael Foundation, which was founded by Michael and his former partner Kenny Goss, is a founding partner of the charity event, MTV RE:DEFINE.
MTV Staying Alive Foundation executive director Georgia Arnold said: “This year’s MTV RE:DEFINE is especially poignant as we celebrate George Michael, a long-term supporter and friend of MTV Staying Alive.
“We have been incredibly honoured by his and Kenny’s unwavering support, and our partnership with the Goss-Michael Foundation that has made MTV RE:DEFINE possible.
“We look forward to continuing to raise awareness and support for our mission, and especially thank all the artists for their involvement and generosity.”
