The winner of the Mario Rosenstock competition has been announced on Today FM.

The four finalists drew acclaim from the comic himself, who announced the winner live on Today FM this morning, speaking as 'Michael D Higgins'.

In fourth place was Brian Munnelly who "captured the essence of" Keith Barry. In third place came Liam Carroll who captured President Michael D Higgins, Keano, Michael Noonan and more. Liam was described by the 'President' described as "absolutely wonderful".

Shane Cunningham scooped second place with his take on Brendan O'Connor's famous Mace ad, which impressed Ian Dempsey. The 'President' added "I like the way he walks out at the end, very good."

The winner, who was announced (briefly) by the 'Special One', was Thomas Barrett, who took on Jose Mourinho and Vincent Browne among others. Watch the video above to see Thomas' winning entry.

The announcement was made during the Gift Grub segment on the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show this morning, and each entry was played to a listenership of 180,000.

All four finalists have won a pair of tickets for Mario's show next weekend at the Olympia.
