Way to go, Ciara – travel memoir puts writer on the map
Entrepreneur Ciara O'Toole has every reason to celebrate in style this Christmas following the success of her debut book Going Solo on Lake Como, which she launched at the Gutter Bookshop in Temple Bar.
Ciara possesses what I would most love to own in 2014 . . . a seaplane pilot's licence. The brunette author got hers when she lived at Lake Como, which is the backdrop for her inspirational travel memoir. Ciara's gamble to self publish paid off handsomely and she got her book into Eason, Avoca, independent bookstores nationwide via Argosy and it is now on sale in the UK via Bertrams.
A marketing professional, Ciara is currently working with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland (SEI) and at a party to celebrate the success of her book this week, Ciara (far right with Deirdre Waldron) told me she intends to spend Christmas between Dublin and Wicklow and take in the new year in Como.
Not surprisingly, the dynamic go-getter is already planning a second book, which she also intends to self publish.
Way to go, girl!
