'Spider-Man' facing sixth opening delay
THE official opening of the Broadway musical version of the 'Spider-Man' comic strip, the most expensive show in US history, may be postponed for a sixth time, writes John Swaine.
'Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark', which has already cost more than €47m, has been plagued with problems since it opened for previews.
Four of the show's actors have been injured in accidents involving its stunts and a lead actress quit after an accident.
Despite being officially barred from reviewing the production, critics have bought tickets -- which cost up to €200 -- and filed scathing reports, with some ranking it among the worst shows ever.
While most shows run about 30 preview performances before opening, there have already been 90 of 'Spider-Man'. But producers are considering postponing the opening until June, to make significant changes. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
