Sophie's choice

Disgraced financier Jordan Belfort
Disgraced financier Jordan Belfort

1 The Wolf is coming to town, lock up your daughters. Or maybe buy them a ticket as they might learn something to transform their financial future, as this wolf is the one from Wall Street depicted by Leonardo di Caprio in the Scorsese film. Yes, Jordan Belfort, inset, will be divulging some entrepreneurial tricks at a seminar in the RDS on May 27. Tickets on sale now from ticketmaster.ie.

2 As a small island, sometimes we do small things best and the Bray Jazz festival (brayjazz.com) is a great example. This little gem is having its 15th annual outing this weekend with stars descending on the north Wicklow town for more than 40 concerts. Gigs at the town's Mermaid Arts Centre include Marius Neset tonight, and American duo Dave Douglas and Uri Caine tomorrow.

3 A new play produced by a new company and with an experienced team at its core, On City Water Hill (oncitywaterhill.wordpress.com) bodes well. Opening in TheatreUpstairs on Eden Quay next Tuesday lunchtime, this play about a film producer meeting a hitman by Philip St John is directed by Liam Halligan and stars Neill Fleming and Pat Nolan.
