Poet biography: Gerard Mitchell
Gerard Mitchell lives with his wife Anne and two daughters, Eva and Saoirse in Holycross, Co Tipperary.
He has had a number of his poems published in the past such as in Young Irish Writing (Irish Press) in the early 1980s and later in the Meath Chronicle, the Gorey Detail and various college magazines.
He feels his impulse to write poetry has been reawakened through learning to open himself more fully to the experience of loss, in all its manifestations, and to peoples' tireless quest to find meaning in their daily lives.
Gerard works as a psychotherapist, and mainly with young people in second-chance education in Limerick city.
