Lusty Keith treads the boards once more to take on Big Maggie
BOYZONE singer and former 'Coronation Street' star Keith Duffy is treading the boards once again -- this time as a lusty travelling salesman.
The former crooner is to play one of John B Keane's most memorable characters, commercial traveller Teddy Heelin, in the Druid's forthcoming production of 'Big Maggie'.
Set in 1960s rural Ireland, 'Big Maggie' portrays a woman who decides to take control of her life after her husband's death.
The play, which addressed the issues of land, money and sex, shocked audiences when it was first staged in 1969.
Duffy co-stars alongside Aisling O'Sullivan, who will play the title role.
The 36 -year-old made his Irish theatre debut in Fiona Looney's play 'Dandelions' opposite Pauline McLynn and Deirdre O'Kane in two sell-out runs at the Olympia Theatre and on tour.
'Big Maggie' will be staged in the Town Hall Theatre from November 11 to 19 and the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin from November 21 to 26.
