JK Rowling sends a heart-warming letter to bullied Harry Potter fan
Author JK Rowling sent an emotional letter to a Harry Potter fan which said his bravery made him worthy of the Gryffindor house featured in the books.
Johnnie Blue (16) from Scotland credits the books for saving his life during a time when he was badly bullied in school.
The fan gifted his favourite author with a notebook personally designed by Harry Potter illustrator Jason Cockcroft last year and was thrilled to receive a personal thank you letter in the post from the millionaire author.

In the note, JK Rowling thanked Johnnie for the ‘stunningly beautiful notebook’ and complimented his penmanship.
“What you say about Harry helping you at what was clearly a dreadful time in your life means more to me than I can easily express,” she wrote.
“I freely confess that I loathe bullying and the way it is still so often “handled” in schools. Your experience is shocking and disturbing and that you have turned out to be a compassionate, moral, highly motivated person is high testimony to your courage.
“Gryffindor for you, my lad…”
Johnnie said being the recipient of a letter written by his hero was one of the best moments of his life.
“I opened the purple tissue-lined envelope to find JK Rowling’s signature letterhead,” Johnnie said.
“By the time I was finished reading the letter, there were tears rolling down my face.”
