Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival presents Airfield Readers' Day on Saturday March 5 at Airfield Estate, Dundrum, beginning 10am, when authors will discuss their books. Sinead Moriarty and Sheila O'Flanagan will discuss the ideas behind their latest books with broadcaster Evelyn O'Rourke.


Yinka Shonibare is a London-born, Nigerian-raised 53-year-old artist with a flamboyant imagination, and his playful and witty new exhibition titled Recreating the Pastoral is at the Visual Centre for Contemporary Art, Carlow, until June 19.


Tomorrow marks International Rare Disease Day, which aims to raise awareness of rare diseases and the impact that they have on people's lives. It is estimated that there are over 6,000 rare diseases in Ireland impacting an estimated 300,000-plus children and adults.


Whack!! is a work of physical exertion, described as choreographed obstruction, and shifts between comedy and tragedy, featuring two renowned performers, Philip Connaughton from Dublin and Ashley Chen from Paris. Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray, Saturday March 5, 8pm.


Beckett in Foxrock, an evening of drama, poetry and prose to honour Samuel Beckett, will be held on Saturday March 5 at 8pm in Tullow Church, Brighton Road, Carrickmines. It'll include some of the writer's favourite music in the village where he grew up. Performers will include Geraldine Plunkett and Marcus Lamb. Booking on
