For me, long and listless January is always lifted by the huge postbag I receive in response to our annual Great Arts Quiz. And this year was no exception. What a cultivated group of readers you are! Lots of otherwise correct entries fell at the Becher's Brook that is the Picture Gallery with our two bearded artists - Simon Russell Beale and Peter Cunningham - causing the most confusion and morphing variously into Michael Longley, Alan Rickman, Phil Coulter and John Malkovich among others.

As you'll recall, our super prize is a two-night stay for two people at Faithlegg House Hotel and Golf Resort. Set in verdant woodlands, Faithlegg in County Waterford is a charming and romantic destination for a luxurious break. The winner and their guest will be treated to a full Irish breakfast on both mornings, dinner on one evening of their choice in the award-winning Roseville Rooms Restaurant, prepared especially by head chef Jenny Flynn, and a spa treatment each in the Estuary Spa.

This fabulous prize goes to Aileen Lee, from Dublin 11, whose all-correct entry was first out of the trilby. Congratulations to her, and well done to all you arts lovers who entered. See you again in December!
